{"id":791,"date":"2016-12-01T12:23:43","date_gmt":"2016-12-01T17:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tech2.mountdesales.net\/?p=791"},"modified":"2016-12-01T12:23:43","modified_gmt":"2016-12-01T17:23:43","slug":"ipads-whats-taking-up-all-my-storage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tech.mountdesales.net\/?p=791","title":{"rendered":"iPads &#8211; what&#8217;s taking up all my storage?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;d like a quick glance at what apps and data are eating up all of your storage, the easiest way is to fire up<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Settings &#8211;&gt; General &#8211;&gt; Storage &amp; iCloud usage<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There you will see a list of every app on your device &#8211; the apps taking up the most room are at the top.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>PHOTOS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Deleting a picture or video in Photos DOES NOT actually delete the file for 30 days. Go to the &#8220;Deleted Items&#8221; album to actually delete the files.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>MAIL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you have not deleted\/cleaned out your email inbox in ages, then it is very likely you have a ton of attachments you no longer need. You have 2 options:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Go through and manually delete messages<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Delete the account in Settings &#8211;&gt; Mail, and then set it back up again. [Remember that your school email is a google account.]<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>GOOGLE APPS [Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the Google apps will keep a &#8220;local&#8221; copy of a file, and these can add up. \u00a0Fire up the Google Drive app, click on the &#8220;hamburger menu&#8221; at the top left, then select &#8220;Offline&#8221;. That will list any files that are taking up room on your device.<\/p>\n<p>One each document,click the triple-dot menu on the bottom\u00a0right, and see if the &#8220;Available Offline&#8221; slider is on, towards the bottom of the list.
