[what to do after your iPad gets wiped]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s what you need to MAKE SURE gets setup after your iPad gets wiped &#8211; or better yet, BEFORE something happens \u00a0to your iPad.<\/p>\n<h2>The Short List<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>iCloud signed in to your MDS email address<\/li>\n<li>iCloud Backup ON<\/li>\n<li>Google Drive &#8211; signed in, Pix auto-backup<\/li>\n<li>Notability &#8211; backing up to Google Drive<\/li>\n<li>Setup Email<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>The Detailed List<\/h2>\n<h3>iCloud<\/h3>\n<p>This will make it faster to setup your iPad in case of a disaster.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Settings &#8211;&gt; iCloud<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you are signed in. You should see YOUR MDS EMAIL at the top. If you have used a different email address, CHANGE IT NOW. If you want to know why, ask Mr. Rule.<\/li>\n<li>Turn iCloud Backup ON &#8211; and start a backup.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Google Drive<\/h3>\n<p>Automatically backup your pictures and videos after you take them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sign in to Google Drive<\/li>\n<li>Look for the 3 stacked lines, top left. [It&#8217;s called a &#8220;hamburger menu&#8221;].<\/li>\n<li>Click it.<\/li>\n<li>Select Settings&#8230;..<\/li>\n<li>Select Photos<\/li>\n<li>Turn ON both sliders at the top [Use Google Photos folder, Autobackup].<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes the &#8220;Google Photos&#8221; option is grayed out. I don&#8217;t know why. Let me know if you figure it out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Notability<\/h3>\n<p>Automatically back up everything in Notability to a folder on Google Drive.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fire up Notability<\/li>\n<li>Bottom Left corner &#8211; click the gear icon [settings]<\/li>\n<li>AutoBackup<\/li>\n<li>Google Drive<\/li>\n<li>Login<\/li>\n<li>Give it permission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Setup Email<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Settings &#8211;&gt;Email<\/li>\n<li>Add new account<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s a GOOGLE account<\/li>\n<li>Fill in the fields &#8211; should be easy to figure out.<\/li>\n<li>When you get to the screen with 4 sliders &#8211; turn all 4 of them green, then hit SAVE<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s what you need to MAKE SURE gets setup after your iPad gets wiped &#8211; or better yet, BEFORE something happens \u00a0to your iPad.
