{"id":757,"date":"2016-10-14T09:22:11","date_gmt":"2016-10-14T14:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tech2.mountdesales.net\/?p=757"},"modified":"2016-10-18T09:45:53","modified_gmt":"2016-10-18T14:45:53","slug":"notability-not-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tech.mountdesales.net\/?p=757","title":{"rendered":"Notability Not Working"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>If Notability seems to start up when you click the icon, and then it disappears:<\/h2>\n<h4>Step One &#8211; Clear the Decks:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Swipe out of all your running apps [doubleclick your home button, swipe all the running windows up to quit the apps].<\/li>\n<li>Shutdown your iPad [Hold Power button down for umpteen seconds until the &#8220;Swipe to turn off&#8221; slider appears onscreen.]<\/li>\n<li>Wait FIVE MINUTES.<\/li>\n<li>Turn iPad back on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Step Two &#8211; Check your storage:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Settings &#8211;&gt; General &#8211;&gt; About &#8211;&gt; Amount Available<\/li>\n<li>If less than 500megabytes, then you need to make room, USUALLY by deleting photos or Videos<\/li>\n<li>Photos app &#8211;&gt; Camera Roll. Select items to delete.<\/li>\n<li>THEN switch to the &#8220;Recently Deleted&#8221; album, click SELECT, then DELETE ALL.<\/li>\n<li>Other possible storage hog is your email. DELETE emails you no longer need &#8211; each one takes up room on your ipad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>If the Notability icon is Dark, or says &#8220;Waiting&#8221;:<\/h2>\n<p>Your iPad [<em>for whatever reason<\/em>] refuses to update Notability, or it started to and has gotten confused.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of points, first:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>You are STILL responsible for getting your homework done<\/strong>. This means you will have to take an alternate route. Work with your teachers &#8211; they are all aware of the issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>Alternative Possibilities for getting your work done include<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Textilus if you want to type notes<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Google Docs if you want to type, AND your notes to automatically be available in Drive<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">If you prefer to use a stylus, try using one of the Art apps [like Paper]<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Use Pencil\/Pen and Paper. [<em>Seriously &#8211; there are a good number of brain-wiring\/educational\/physiological reasons to go this route. Ask Mrs. Alderman<\/em>].<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>&#8220;THE DANCE&#8221;<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Try this first at school.<\/li>\n<li>If that makes no difference, try it at home.<\/li>\n<li>Please do these steps IN THIS ORDER.<\/li>\n<li>Once you complete them, let Mr. Rule or Mrs. Andrews know what happened. They are tracking the results and working with tech support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Look at your Notability app. If it is NOT still dark, let Mr. Rule\/Mrs. Andrews know &#8211; RIGHT NOW!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Swipe out of all your apps. Shutdown the iPad. Wait 5 minutes. Start it back up.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Once things are back up, wait 5 minutes to see if anything changes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If Not, click on \u00a0the Notability icon.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If it starts installing, let Mr. Rule\/Mrs. Andrews know &#8211; RIGHT NOW!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211;&gt; \u00a0If you&#8217;ve &#8220;done the dance&#8221; at school, try it at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211;&gt; \u00a0If you&#8217;ve &#8220;done the dance&#8221; at home, try it at school.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;&#8211;&gt; \u00a0Let Mr. Rule\/Mrs. Andrews know what happened &#8211; RIGHT NOW!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5>One student had success by doing this:<\/h5>\n<p>I closed out my apps,clicked on all the blacked out apps a few times, and shut the ipad down for about twenty minutes.
