For now, below are your options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More details will be coming soon via homeroom, email, and the Freshman Focus teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>OPTION ONE &#8211; the Orientation route<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On your current iPad, you make sure Notability notes and your Photos are backed up.<br \/>You hand in your iPad.<br \/>Mr. Rule hands you a new one, and you go through the exact same setup you did back at <a href=\"https:\/\/tech.mountdesales.net\/?p=1991\">Orientation<\/a>. [<em>Click that link if you would like a reminder of what you did back at Orientation.]<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advantage: A LOT fewer visits with Mr. Rule.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disadvantage: A lot more steps for you to do, including downloading Notability notes from Drive to your iPad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>OPTION TWO &#8211; Backup\/Restore<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On your current iPad, you make sure Notability notes and your Photos are backed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You hand in your iPad to Mr. Rule &#8211; and pick up a loaner [<em>if needed].&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Rule pulls a backup of your iPad, which takes about 20 minutes, then transfers the data to the new iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You pick up your old iPad, and keep using it while your new iPad is being prepared.<br \/>Once Mr. Rule emails you that your iPad is ready, you turn in the loaner iPad [<em>if you used one<\/em>] AND your old iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On your new iPad, you sign in to your AppleID, and go about your day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advantage: Much easier setup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disadvantage: A LOT more coordinating, going by Mr. Rule&#8217;s office in DS1, and time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)<\/a>:<br \/><br \/>The design of the tenth-generation iPad more closely resembles the higher-end iPad Air and Pro models, with flatter edges and no home button. As with the iPad Air and Mini, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Touch_ID\">Touch ID<\/a>\u00a0sensor is located in the power button. It is available in silver, blue, pink, and yellow color finishes.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-Seifert-8\">[7]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the iPad Air, it has a 10.9-inch 2360&#215;1640&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Retina_display\">Liquid Retina display<\/a>; an increase from the previous 10.2-inch model, but it is not laminated.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-Seifert-8\">[7]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;The tenth-generation iPad uses an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apple_A14\">A14 Bionic<\/a>&nbsp;processor, previously seen in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_Air_(4th_generation)\">fourth-generation iPad Air<\/a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPhone_12\">iPhone 12<\/a>&nbsp;in 2020. The chip has a 6-core CPU, a 4-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-Seifert-8\">[7]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tenth-generation iPad has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bluetooth_5.2\">Bluetooth 5.2<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wi-Fi_6\">Wi-Fi 6<\/a>&nbsp;(802.11ax) wireless capabilities, as well as sub-6 GHz&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/5G\">5G<\/a>&nbsp;on cellular models. It is the first base model iPad to use&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/USB-C\">USB-C<\/a>&nbsp;instead of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lightning_(connector)\">Lightning connector<\/a>; connectivity is limited to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/USB_2.0\">USB 2.0<\/a>&nbsp;transfer speeds, with support for external displays at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1080p\">1080p<\/a>&nbsp;resolution at a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Refresh_rate\">refresh rate<\/a>&nbsp;of 60 Hz, or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/4K_resolution\">2160p<\/a>&nbsp;at 30 Hz.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-Seifert-8\">[7]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;The tenth-generation iPad does not include a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phone_connector_(audio)\">headphone connector<\/a>, requiring wireless headphones or a USB-C adapter sold separately.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-Seifert-8\">[7]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tenth-generation iPad features a 12-megapixel rear-facing wide-angle camera with an \u0192\/1.8 aperture and 4K video recording support.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-:3-9\">[8]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;In a first for any iPad, the front-facing camera is now located on the long edge of the display, so that it is horizontally centered when the tablet is in a landscape orientation.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-:4-10\">[9]<\/a><\/sup><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IPad_(10th_generation)#cite_note-Seifert-8\">[7]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You have a decision to make on HOW you will go about getting your data transferred from your old iPad to the new one.
