Oversharing on social media threatens your online security, warns Dan Lin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe cannot go out and socialize during this pandemic, so people are turning to social media to share what is going on with their lives,\u201d says Lin<\/a>, an associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science, and director of the I-Privacy Laboratory at the College of Engineering at the University of Missouri. \u201cBut it can be risky.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before a person decides to play along with the latest social media challenge, or post a picture of their family home, Lin says to consider the following three things:”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
