MDS*****, your standard password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-large-font-size\"><strong>Step Two<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check to make sure things are setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Mail<\/strong> [<em>if setting up your account, choose the Google\/Gmail option<\/em>]<\/li><li><strong>Drive<\/strong> &#8211; open it and login<\/li><li><strong>Notability<\/strong> <strong>autobackup<\/strong> &#8211; first screen, Gear icon on bottom left, Autobackup. Make sure Google Drive is turned on.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-large-font-size\">Step Three [<em>only for Upper School<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step three for 8th grade is at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Login to your AppleID [Settings &#8211;&gt; top left column]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>IF YOU HAVE A SCHOOL APPLEID ALREADY:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Login with your mds email<\/li><li>If your mds password has at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number, your AppleID password if likely to just be your MDS password.<\/li><li>If your MDS password is missing a number, try add 1871 to the end.<\/li><li>If it is missing an uppercase or lowercase letter, try changing the case of the first letter in your password.<\/li><li>If you changed it and have forgotten &#8211; go through the reset process again.<\/li><li>If things just don&#8217;t work, reset your password.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>WHY SHOULD I DO THIS?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Three words:  <strong><em>FIND MY IPAD<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SCHOOL APPLEID:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You need to set one up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Easiest way is to surf over to <a href=\"https:\/\/appleid.apple.com\">appleid.apple.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use your mds email address<\/li><li>Use your MDS password<\/li><li>Security questions: your call. These are <strong>only<\/strong> used to retrieve your password if you forget it.<\/li><li>You&#8217;ll have to click on a link in an email to complete the setup.<\/li><li>It will also ask for a phone number to setup &#8220;multifactor authentication&#8221;. Make sure you use a phone you can access.<\/li><li>THEN on the iPad go to Settings &#8211;> click on the left column top and get logged in.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-large-font-size\">Step 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Google Photos &#8211;> set to autobackup your pix\/vids<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fire up Google Photos<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Settings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should see the options there. &#8220;Original Quality&#8221; is OK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-large-font-size\">Step Three for 8th Grade<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">A. If you are a returning student to MDS, AND your AppleID is already setup, AND you know what the password is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Settings<\/li><li>Login to AppleID [top of the left column]<\/li><li>Login.<\/li><li>Your password SHOULD be the same as your MDS password.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">B. If you are a new-to-MDS student<br \/>OR for some reason never setup your school-managed AppleID:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You will need your MDS password AND the temporary AppleID password for your account. <em>Your teacher has that information.<\/em><\/li><li>Settings &#8211;> Login to AppleID [<em>at the top of the left column<\/em>].<\/li><li>Your AppleID email address is your mds#@mountdesales.net [For example, mds55555@mountdesales.net.<ul><li>NOTE: SOME students will have a &#8220;.1&#8221; &#8211; for example mds12345.1@mountdesales.net. <em>The system made that happen &#8211; send an email to the ipad account if you&#8217;d like to know why.<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>It will ask you for a password &#8211; use the TEMPORARY PASSWORD you have been given.<\/li><li>THEN the system will ask you to create a new password:<ul><li> First, in the &#8220;Old password&#8221; section, type in the TEMPORARY password you were given. [<em>This is the last time you will use it.<\/em>]<\/li><li>For &#8220;new password&#8221;, use your standard MDS password.
